The Family Griot is a website dedicated to the presentation of genealogical research of the
familial lineage of the Washington, Rounds, Thompson, Galmore, Lanier and Callins and
associated families in the states of Alabama and Mississippi. The main motivation of this
site is to preserve the family history for current and future generations, research and
preserve the cultural heritage of these particular African-American families. To follow the
