The Washington Family of Adams County & Wilkinson County, Mississippi are descendants and
relations of Scott Washington and Eliza McLain-Washington and Roxanna (Roxie) Mc
Farland-Earls. This specific researcher is focusing on the descendants of Scott and Roxie.
Roxana Earls (b. 1859 in Mississippi) is the daughter of Peter McFarland (b. 1805 in Virginia)
and Milly Henyard-McFarland (b. 1837 in Mexico). Roxana had two sons with Scott
Washington, Will Washington Sr (b. 1888 Wilkinson County, MS) and Elijah Washington (b. abt.
1892 Wilkinson County, MS) . She also had five children with her husband, John Earls. Katy,
Milly, Lucy, Mary and Jane. Apparently, only Katy and Jane lived to adulthood. When their
mother Roxie passed away suddenly when their youngest brother Elijah was an infant , leaving
the girls to raise their brothers Will and Elijah.
At this time, I have been unable to find any trace of Scott Washington in Adams or Wilkinson
county before 1900.
